Bio
Multi-award-winning AI Film Director, animator and visual artist with four decades of experience in animation, documentary and visual storytelling.
Roxanne Ducharme is a French-Canadian AI Film Director, animator and art director based in Panama. A Daytime Emmy® Award winner, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema from Concordia University in Montreal and has worked internationally across feature films, documentaries, television series, video games and advertising.
Her credits include Steven Spielberg’s animated feature An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, the Oscar and BAFTA-nominated animated short The Village, and the Emmy® Award-winning children’s series Arthur, on which she worked as an animation supervisor. In Paris, she also contributed to the animated feature Asterix and the Big Fight.
Her documentary work includes animation, art direction, illustration, storyboarding, opening sequences, closing credits, transitions and the animation of archival photographs. Her illustrations have appeared in animated documentary segments produced for National Geographic, Discovery Channel and the Science Channel.
Known in the generative AI community as TrashCanRoxanne, she now combines her extensive background in traditional animation and documentary storytelling with generative technology. Her AI films are distinguished by surreal, poetic and emotionally resonant imagery and have received multiple international awards and festival selections.
